Entry Rules

Each entry must be in its original form and must have been produced or implemented during 2007 by a firm or individual located in Texas. Each entry must be prepared according to the checklist below or will be subject to disqualification. The decision of the judges is final.

How-to-Enter Checklist:

1. Each entry must be mounted on a 24" x 36" black mounting board, no larger and no smaller, with the category number and name and entry title affixed to the front of the board. A three-ring binder may be used for supplemental material. For oversized two-or three-dimensional items, submit photograph(s), illustration(s) and/or graphical representation(s) of the entry mounted on black board(s). Entries may include samples, application examples, photos, illustrations, press clippings, media clips, reports, tables, charts, testimonials and other documented evidence. If an entry involves multiple boards and/or binders, securely bind or wrap them together with the category number and name and entry title affixed to each piece. All entries, including audio, video and digital media, must have a hardcopy representation of the entry mounted on a 24" x 36" black mounting board that can be used for gallery display.

  • For radio entries, on a black board, mount a typewritten script and a CD of the ad, both enclosed in a plastic sleeve for easy removal.
  • For video, TV, multimedia, animation and computer-based or digital video entries, produce hardcopy printouts of key scenes, storyboards or graphics that best represent the entry and mount them on black board(s), attaching a DVD of the entry enclosed in a plastic sleeve for easy removal.
  • For websites, produce hardcopy printouts or graphics of the home page and at least two other pages that best represent the website and mount them on black board(s), and attach to the board the URL of the website or attach a DVD of the website in a plastic sleeve for easy removal and include instructions on how to launch the website using the DVD.
  • For Market Research categories, mount charts, tables and/or other hardcopy representations or evidence of the project on black board(s), and submit the full entry in a supplemental binder with the category number and name and entry title on the front of the binder. The submission of blinded materials is permitted to ensure confidentiality.

2. Complete an Entry Form for each entry and attach to the back of the board. Photocopies of the Entry Form are acceptable.

3. Type answers to the Judging Criteria questions on an 8-1/2" x 11" paper (three pages maximum) and attach to the back of the board in a plastic sleeve for easy removal. On the top of each typewritten page, include the page number, category number and name and entry title.

4. Complete the Fee Form and include payment and a list of the entries covered, as instructed on the Fee Form. If multiple entries are submitted under one Fee Form, please securely bundle these entries together with the Fee Form and payment attached to the outside in an envelope.

5. ALL entries become the property of AMA Houston and WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

6. Send or deliver entries to arrive no later than 3 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2008. Late entries with a late entry fee can be submitted no later than 3 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2008. Entries must be sent via courier or overnight delivery, or dropped-off in person ONLY (DO NOT MAIL) to:

Any delivery made after the 3pm deadline on April 10th, will be charged the late entry fee pricing schedule.
